Barrier system are crash tested according to American testing norm NCHRPr 350.
Arms are is available with vertical or horizontal movement. Installation location with limited space for Barrier housing/counterweight recommended version with reverse counter weight . The systems are well suited to be operated from a Traffic Central or equivalent to close eg entrance to the tunnel , access to opening bridge or entry into protected area or equivalent.
B & B Roadway also manufacture a net-barrier system. The systems are tested according to NCHRPr 350. The systems above can be quickly reset after an impact. Normally , only the ” energy absorbing ” parts are to be repaired/replaced.
The energy-absorbing system of this type is not supported in the European standard family EN 1317 ” Road restrain systems.” Therefore, there is no similar systems tested under any European standard in Europe.
